General 
It is important to us that your Parable experience is a happy one.  If you have anything you’d like to advise us of, good or bad, please contact us.  Please note, our website has been designed using the Mozilla Firefox browser.   Internet Explorer users may experience some anomalies on our website, such as pictures and/or text badly positioned or missing.  This is unfortunate but entirely down to issues with Internet Explorer.

Stock
Products shown on our website may not be stock items (except those on our Special Offers pages).  Any item ordered will be made to match the item chosen.  However, as our products are not mass-produced, there may be slight variations in colour and finish from those shown.  These are features of hand-finishing and we believe they should be celebrated as individuality that cannot be achieved by mass-production.  We do not have pictures of all products available, therefore, the picture does not always match the text but please be assured we will send you the product in the text you select.  We reserve the right to change or withdraw products at any time.

Orders
We are a small company and sometimes we find ourselves inundated with orders and are unable to fulfil these all within 10 working days as is our aim in normal circumstances.  We do state that orders may take up to 28 days but of course, we prefer this not to be the case.  There are also occasions when our moulds reach the end of their lives that may result in a candle not being available in a certain colour and/or design.  We would advise you of any of the above occurances and you would then have the option of changing or cancelling your order if we were unable to fulfil it within the 28 days.

Finishing
Our candles are hand made, and small blemishes and variations can occur that we feel add to the character of each individual product.  To create our candles,  we have to pour the wax into upside down moulds.  This can result in bubbles trapped in the burning surface of the candle and any sediment sinking to the bottom of the mould, which is the top of the candle.  We're sure you will agree that one of the strengths of a Parable design is that it is clearly not a mass-produced item, but a lovingly-crafted artefact. So, if  you find some bubbles or brush hairs here, or a small irregularity there, you'll know that's the way it's meant to be: a small reminder of the craftsman's hand at work.  We also point out that some of these irregularitires are on the original artefacts and are therefore replicated on the products.

Promotions, Discounts, Coupons, Vouchers
Promotions, Discounts, Coupons and Vouchers are subject to our terms and conditions.  Codes may only be used once per household.  Only one code may be used at any one time.  We reserve the right to change or withdraw offers at any time. Discounts may not relate to all products on our website.  Please check details on individual promotions.

Currency
All prices are in GBP (British pounds) and include the current rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) at 17.5%.

Delivery Information
We have different delivery prices online for UK mainland, UK Highlands and Islands, Southern Ireland and the Channel Islands and some EU countries.   We do ship internationally to destinations other than those mentioned but please contact us to enquire about delivery charges before placing your order.  Overseas taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.  There may be rare occasions when the weight of your order will not be covered by the standard delivery charges quoted.  In these circumstances, we will contact you to advise of any additional charge after you place your order.  You will then have the option to change or cancel your order.  We reserve the right to change our delivery charges where necessary, without notice.  Please see our delivery information page for full details. 

Secure payment
We accept the following payment cards by telephone and over our secure internet payment system: Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Solo, Maestro, JCB, American Express. 

If you prefer to pay by another method, please contact us for processing and delivery terms.  Cheques (drawn on recognised UK banks only) should be crossed and made payable to Parable Designs Limited.

Guarantee
Our products are made with considerable care and attention to detail.  They only leave our workshop when we are satisfied they pass our quality control and should arrive with you in the same condition.  We would like to remind customers that many of our products are delicate and should be handled with care.  Surface detail may be damaged if they come into contact with hard or sharp objects (such as jewellery).  Please also take care when removing your candle from its packaging.

Burning and Candle Advisory
Burn times are approximate and can be achieved in ideal burning conditions.  Our candles are accompanied by our comprehensive candle advisory, written with the help and advice of experts in this field.  A copy of this advisory is held with Trading Standards. Your acceptance of these terms and conditions means you agree to read and fully understand the advisory before burning your candle. 

Returns
We hope you will be pleased with your purchase and have no reason to return it.  However, on some of our items we offer a full refund or replacement if you are not completely satisfied with your goods (excluding delivery and return costs). 

Please contact us at sales@parabledesigns.co.uk or on 01392 361666 within 7 days of receipt of goods and we'll send you a returns form to send back with the item.  We may then arrange to collect it from you (UK Mainland only).

Please ensure it is returned in the condition it was received and in its original, undamaged packaging to protect it in transit (ensuring it is packed in the same way it was when you received it).  If an item is returned to us badly packaged and, as a result, is damaged, we will be unable to offer a refund or replacement. 

If there is the possibility you may not want to keep your candle, please ensure you do not take the candle out of its soft packaging, but just look at it by peeling back the wrapping carefully.  Our candles are delicate and once they are touched, it is not possible to remove fingerprints from the background surface of the detailed area without  leaving shiny marks, rendering it secondhand.  It is therefore our policy not to accept the return of candles that have been opened fully and touched.  We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Made to order, bespoke or commissioned items may not be returnable under this policy. If you have any query relating to your right to return your purchase, please contact us to discuss before placing your order.  This does not affect your statutory rights.

Damaged Items
Although we make every effort to ensure products arrive in good condition, there may be times when goods are damaged in transit.  In this case, we will arrange for a replacement or a full or partial refund. 

Please contact us at sales@parabledesigns.co.uk or on 01392 361666 within 3 days of receipt of goods to advise us of the damage and we'll send you a returns form to send back with the item.  We may then arrange to collect it from you (UK Mainland only).

Refunds
If you return your item and request a refund under either our return or damaged items policy, subject to our quality control check, we aim to credit you via the method you paid for your order within 30 days of the date of cancellation notice (subject to your cardholder’s own timescales). 

If you receive a damaged item, we will offer you a full refund.  For all other returns, we will deduct the cost of carriage both ways.

Please note that our refund, damaged items and returns policies do not affect your statutory rights.

We are protected by Copyright and our designs are certificated and entered in the UK Register of Designs at the UK Intellectual Property Office. 

Force Majeure
We are not liable for any breach of our obligations resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, such as (but not limited to) war, strike, riot, crime, acts of God.
